LAYSCA attends Los Angeles Sister Cities Cultural Day and Trade Conference

Los Angeles, CA --- The Los-Angeles-Yerevan Sister City Association, LAYSCA, participated in two events organized by the Los Angeles Sister Cities program. On May 18, 2007, the LAYSCA attended the Los Angeles Sister Cities Trade Conference. It also participated in the Los Angeles Sister Cities Cultural Day on May 20, 2007. Leading the delegation was LAYSCA President, Souzi Zerounian-Khanzadian. She was joined by fellow LAYSCA Board Members Vartan Thomassian and Harout Maadenian as well as vice consul Sahag Sargsyan from the Armenian consulate of Los Angeles.

The Trade Conference, hosted both by the Los Angeles Sister Cities and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, was an opportunity for small businesses and companies involved in the sister cities to meet with other businesses and build new contacts. The event was also a success in helping businesses in Los Angeles network with the businesses in other countries involved in the different sister cities, and also promoted trade and business among the participants of the event.

This conference was a great opportunity to introduce the Los Angeles community and our fellow sister city associations to the vibrant and growing economy of Armenia," said Zerounian-Khanzadian.

Los Angeles Sister Cities Cultural Day was a fun, cross-cultural, and exciting public event which also encouraged a friendly environment between members of various sister cities. The event was full of entertainment from all around the world and included a traditional Armenian dance performance by the Los Angeles-based Karavan dance school. The Cultural Day was both an enjoyable and educational event, giving participants a chance to experience the heritage and customs of various countries and cultures.

The Los Angeles-Yerevan Sister City Association is a non profit organization that promotes friendly ties between Yerevan and Los Angeles, as well as between the United States and Armenia. This is accomplished through cultural, educational, scientific, health services, sports, and trade and commercial exchanges between the two cities.
